Overview

Through the data validation process, valuable information is gained that can then be used to improve performance around patient care or quality of care metrics.  Improving quality performance may take the form of improving data collection processes, better identifying patients who need additional interventions, or decreasing missed opportunities to provide patients appropriate interventions, among other possibilities. This section includes guidance on leveraging Health IT to improve quality performance including change packages for recommended approaches related to various quality of care measures.

Advancing Care Information Overview

Description: This webinar will provide an overview of the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System’s (MIPS) Advancing Care Information performance category, as outlined in key provisions of the recently released Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM).

The Advancing Care Information performance category is focused on the use of electronic health records. The proposal would replace the Meaningful Use program for Medicare physicians. The proposal for Advancing Care Information is designed to simplify requirements, support patient care, and be flexible to meet the needs of physician practices. During this webinar CMS subject matter experts will discuss details of the proposal including its emphasis on measures to reduce burden and improve patient engagement and connectivity.
