Validating data from Health IT systems is the cornerstone of effective Health IT Enabled QI. Ensuring that Health IT-generated reports and data reflect an accurate picture of the care and outcomes of your population ensures that data is actionable for quality improvement, monitoring as well as many other purposes. This validation must be ongoing as system , provider, workflow, and other changes, can all impact accuracy of data. This section provides worksheets, guides, and tips for validating data.

Intimate Partner Violence Case Example | Privacy and Data Sharing Considerations | HITEQ Learning Collaborative

This health center learning collaborative series presented health center case examples that explored the privacy and data sharing considerations of EHR documentation of sensitive patient information, such as social history and social risk, and encouraged participants to discuss the implications for health centers and their patients.

Session 4: Considerations when Documenting Risk of Acquiring HIV and/ Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation

The Health Partners on IPV + Exploitation (part of Futures Without Violence) presented a case example involving intimate partner violence for group discussion on the cross-cutting sensitive information and documentation considerations that present. The case example were followed by a facilitated discussion about related documentation, coding, privacy, and data sharing.
