Enabling services (ES), nonclinical services such as eligibility assistance and health education, are integral components of the comprehensive services provided by health center program grantees. However, the lack of data on ES makes it difficult for health centers to demonstrate to payers and policymakers the value of these services. To address this issue, the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organization (AAPCHO) developed a nationally-recognized and standardized model for collecting and analyzing ES data. Since 2012, AAPCHO has collaborated with the National Health Care for the Homeless Council and Health Outreach Partners to expand training opportunities on ES data collection to health centers across the country.
This webinar series demonstrates how health centers can install templates that allow staff to report and track ES activities through NextGen Electronic Health Records (EHR). The presentation will feature experts from Waianae Coast Comprehensive Heath Center, a leading community health center in ES, who developed their own ES NextGen template. Waianae Coast CHC staff will be demonstrating this ES template, which is open source and freely accessible for use.
Part One: Assessment and Overview
- This webinar is ideal for those beginning to assess their health center’s ability to incorporate ES in NextGen. We will cover the Next Gen utilities necessary to import and access ES templates. We will show a preview of the open source NextGen ES template and examples of ES reports.
